'The only time I hit my ex' - newly married actor Ibrahim explains

"I didn't batter my ex-girlfriend contrary to what people think. The only time I hit her was the day she slapped me for dating another woman. We were not married. We dated and we had a baby. The mother of my child never stayed at home whenever I away for movie roles. She was always away and because of her attitude I started dating other women who helped me at home. She was misbehaving so I had to let her go. I couldn't condone her indecent dressing. We were not married but that does not give her the right to misbehave. The mistake I made was to feature her in my movie. The result was that she wouldn't come home for months. I was the one taking care of our child. Is that a woman to marry? I dumped her because I could no longer cope with her" - Newly married actor Ibrahim Chatta said when asked why he didn't marry his babymama.

How To: Make Your Lipstick Last

No one likes to apply their lipstick only to have it wear off in a couple of hours. We spend so much time applying our makeup the last thing we want to do is reapply lipstick every few hours. And, with holiday parties right around the corner, it’s the perfect time to rock those red lip . So getting the most wear from your favorite shade of lipstick is a must. Apart from trying lipsticks that promise to have more staying power, or drying lipstains, there are alternative ways of extending the time your lipstick last. Below are some quick tips and tricks to get the most from your lipsticks all year round.

Exfoliate – This is the most important thing you can do for your lips as this removes all the dead skin from your lips leaving new skin cells to grow in their place. This will help keeps your lips soft and subtle. To get these done, contact me on trueteepsy@gmail.com

Lip Balm – Before beginning to apply your makeup put on a thin coat of lip balm of your choice. This will get your lips moisturized and keep them from looking dry and cracked. When you are ready to apply your lip products make sure to gently wipe off any excess lip balm. (It’s also a good idea to apply a coat of moisturizing lip balm to your lips before bed each night to help keep your lips smooth and hydrated)

Lipliner – Begin by using your favorite lipliner and begin at the Cupid’s Bow of the upper lip and trace the outer part of your lips. Once the lips are lined you are going to use the same liner pencil to fill them in. This is extremely important as this will lay the foundation for the lipstick you apply on top. Simply turn the liner onto its side and color in the rest of the lip.

Lipstick – Now it’s time to apply your lipstick. One of the things that will help your lipstick look it’s best is to use a lip brush to put on the lipstick instead of applying it directly from the tube. As we age we get small crevasses in our lips, when you use the lipstick from the tube the color lays on the top surface of the lips only. Using a brush allows the color to really get into the lip and helps it stay longer. Dip the lipbrush into the lipstick and pack the color onto the lips to get a sort of stained effect. Now take a tissue and blot your lips a couple of times to really press the color into your lips. Now go back in with your lipstick and apply a second coat of color.

Concealer – To help clean up around the lips and give them a clean edge, wipe off your lipbrush really well to remove the lipstick and use a concealer like MAC Studio Concealer to clean up the edges.
Having amazing lips with color that will last is easy. Regardless of whether you are wearing the perfect red holiday lip, or just want to get the most wear from your lipstick, these simple steps will make sure your lips stay looking their best all night.

How to Look Fresh and Dewy

Winter is officially here and with it the dry air and cold wind that accompanies it!  I wanted to show you how you can have skin that glows, and looks fresh and dewy :)

1. Choose the right foundation
You want to pick a foundation with a satin finish formula, unless you have dry skin, then choose a sheer formula.  Right now I’m loving the Burberry Velvet Foundation as it is talc-free and doesn’t have Octinoxate- a bonus for those with sensitive skin or Neutrogena Healthy Skin, as they give a dewy finish while still providing great coverage.

2. Apply Powder Sparingly
If you have combination skin, use the least amount of powder you can.  If you have dry skin, skip the face powder all together.  The trick to using powder is use as little as possible and apply only to the oily parts of your skin- usually the t-zone.

3. Use Cream Blush instead of Powder Blush
Using powder blush can sometimes make your skin look dry and powdery.  To give a more dewy finish to the cheeks, using a cream blush is key!  My favorite drugstore cream blushes are by NYX as they come in many colors and don’t feel sticky and also they are highly pigmented and blend well into the skin. To apply any of the cream blushes, using clean fingers, pat the color over the apples of the cheeks.

4. Use a Liquid or Cream Cheek Highlighter
Adding a cheek highlighter above the cream blush will add a soft glow to the cheeks and give your face a more radiant appearance. I am using Burberry Fresh Glow.  I love this product because it doesn’t have glitter in it yet adds a subtle glow to the skin. A good drugstore highlighter is the Natural Beauty Highlighter Duo. To apply, use a small brush and dab the color directly on the top of the cheekbones and come along the temples slightly

I hope this helps you all achieve that beautiful dewy glow for the winter months! Stay warm out there :)
