Findings revealed that Linda’s travails started when she was young, her parent circumcised her by complete removal of her genitalia and then sewed closed as a means of preventing her from being promiscuous and most importantly keeping her virginity intact for her future husband.

Police Corporal Dismissed For Stealing Seized Motorcycle While Enforcing Lagos State’s New Traffic Law In Ikorodu

Lagos State Police Command has dismissed a Police Corporal, Gboroye Folagbade, with Force number 444123, who allegedly stole a seized motorcycle while enforcing the state’s new traffic law, in Ikorodu area of Lagos.

The Operation Officer of the division seized the motorcycle from one Saheed Owolabi, over his violation of the new traffic law, late last year.

Efforts by Owolabi to recover the bike failed, as he was informed that it had been transferred to Alausa for crushing.

But on January 10, 2013, Owolabi reportedly found his motorbike with another rider identified as Ismail Olomitutu, around Anibaba area of Ikorodu and raised alarm.

Olomitutu confessed to have bought the motorcycle from Corporal Folagbade at the rate of N55,000.

Irked by the incident, the visibly angry Command’s boss, Mr Umar Manko, ordered Folagbade to be tried in an orderly room over what was described as a discreditable offence.

Confirming the dismissal, spokesman for the Lagos State Police Command, Ngozi Braide, said: “The offence is contrary to paragraph (E) of the first schedule of Police Act and Regulation 370, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 1990”.

The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command promptly reviewed the proceedings and upheld the findings of guilt and thereby approved subject’s dismissal from the force with effect from 16/1/2013.

All police uniforms and other accoutrements have been retrieved from the suspect and has been arraigned with one other at Chief Magistrate Court II Ikorodu on 17/01/2013 in Charge No. IKD/B/05/2013.

He was subsequently convicted and sentenced to six months of community service and five years probabtion - which he is still serving.

"I was not speeding..I just found myself inthe water"-Man who plunged over 3rd mainland Bridge speaks

He is indeed a lucky man. On saturday 26th jan 2013,I guess you all heard about the man whose car skidded off the road and plunged into the 3rd mainland bridge  but was miraculously  rescued by fishermen.Though traffic officials said he was over-speeding ,Mr Olusola Oladimeji, the driver and owner of the Toyota Sienna said he wasn't.

He told his version of what happened to Punch..

The father of three who is a minister of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Church, said he was on his way home from work when the incident occurred. He narrated his experience to Punch:
“I work on the island and I left home for a meeting in the early hours of Saturday. After the monthly environmental sanitation, I started driving back home. I was driving at the speed of 60km/hr and was on the fast lane because the road was free. At Ebute Meta bypass, I saw two vehicles that had been involved in an accident but I kept on driving. Suddenly, everything went blank, I couldn’t see anything again, and I just found myself in the water.”
He did not lose consciousness in the water and as such, he unfastened the seat belt and swam towards a ray of light.
“I was not on high speed. When the car hit the railing of the bridge, the airbag was not released. After falling into the water, I unfastened the seat belt and noticed that one of the doors of my car had broken off, so I swam out of the vehicle to the surface of the water even though I don’t know how to swim. It was while I was waving my hand that fishermen saw me and quickly came to my aid. They took me away from the scene and took me to a clinic located on the water where they administered the first aid.”
Oladimeji was later taken to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital where an X-ray scan was conducted on him. Although his leg was not fractured, it was cast with Plaster of Paris because he had a sprain.
When Punch visited his home, members of his church were seen coming to felicitate with him. One of them, Praise Onanuga, a pastor at MFM, Berkeley Parish, said the victim had just bought the car eight days before the accident.
“He bought the car just eight days before the accident and we were supposed to do the dedication today (Sunday) but we thank God that we were not put to shame. We will hold a thanksgiving for him soon because this is a miracle.”

A Wish produced by award winning actor cum producer Elvis Chucks was a success at the cinema between December 2012 and January 2013.The movie centres on a single mother who was unfortunate to acquire education but is bent on giving her only child education against all odds. 

The producer and director of the comedy ‘A Wish’ Elvis Chucks had starred in the popular TV drama series Super story where he played the role of a village headmaster. The actor cum producer has also featured in several Nollywood movies. Elvis Chucks produced the True Citizen that featured Uti Nwachukwu (BBA all Stars Winner), Alex Usifo, Brian Okwara, (Ex Mr. Nigeria), Clareth Onukogu, (Miss Nigeria U.S.A) and others. He recently bagged an award for his last movie True Citizens, at the Nigerian Integrity Film Award.

"My Lekki house was never a secret" - James Ibori releases statement

Two days after a spokesman for the EFCC said they discovered a 'secret mansion' belonging to Ibori located somewhere in Lekki (see story HERE), James Ibori' condemned the claims. He released a statement yesterday through his media assistant, Tony Eluemunor, saying the house was never a secret as it was listed down in Asset declaration forms he filled in 1999, 2003 and 2007.

The statement reads: 

"Despite EFCC’s insinuations to the contrary, the Alpha Beach Road house was built as far back as 1994, and so could not have, by any leap of the imagination, been built with proceeds, corrupt or not corrupt, from my office as State Governor because I began to live in that house five good years before I was voted into office”.

"Also, if the stories published about the house were actually based on EFCC’s statement, it means that the EFCC has accepted that Ibori was actually enormously rich at least half a decade before he became Governor of Delta State- after all, EFCC and the media called the house a “mansion”.

"So, perhaps trying to hide this fact that Ibori was a man of means before he became governor, the EFCC and their agents are using all infernal tricks to cast doubts about when Ibori actually built that house.

"For the records, Chief Ibori reiterates that the house was not only built in 1994 before he became governor, it has featured in his asset declarations.

"Also, Chief Ibori has been cooperating fully with the Crown Prosecution since the preliminary stages of the confiscation process began, in line with the United Kingdom Criminal Justice Act (CJA) of 1988, so he does not see why the house has become an issue – especially as Nigeria has surrendered her jurisdictional sovereignty to Britain," the statement said.

Refugees take over UNIABUJA as school remains closed

The University of Abuja was shut down in November 2012 following students' protest over non-accreditation of some of their courses, and while students remain at home frustrated and wondering when the school will re-open, Fulani Herdsmen from neighboring villages have taken over some parts of the campus.

These refugees and their families have built makeshift tents close to the administrative area of the school and have been living there since late last year without disturbance.

The management of the Ikeja City Mall is very grateful to the great people of Lagos State and the emergency services that responded to the fire incident that occurred yesterday morning (15 January 2013) at about 11:15 in one of the stores, Mr. Price.

The fire, according to Mr. Steve Idornigie the Operations Manager of the ICM, Mr. Price store manager reported the incident to him and emergency staff responded immediately.

On what caused the fire, Mr. Steve said from preliminary investigations, it seems the fire emanated from an electric power point. However investigations, he said, are ongoing to ascertain the cause of the fire.

“The process of evacuation was swift,” he said. “The customers conducted themselves in an orderly fashion and allowed the emergency services people to do their work.”

“In terms of damage, no goods were lost neither was anyone injured. However some clothes got wet as a result of the water from the men of the Federal Fire Service. We would like to thank them for their professionalism and valiance, along with the men of Lagos State Emergency Service, National Emergency Agency, the Lagos State Traffic Management Agency and the Civil Defense.”

Mr. Idornigie assured the customers and tenants that Ikeja City Mall would be reopened for business at 3pm today.

Once the lips are lined you are going to use the same liner pencil to fill them in. This is extremely important as this will lay the foundation for the lipstick you apply on top. Simply turn the liner onto its side and color in the rest of the lip.

Lipstick – Now it’s time to apply your lipstick. One of the things that will help your lipstick look it’s best is to use a lip brush to put on the lipstick instead of applying it directly from the tube. As we age we get small crevasses in our lips, when you use the lipstick from the tube the color lays on the top surface of the lips only. Using a brush allows the color to really get into the lip and helps it stay longer. Dip the lipbrush into the lipstick and pack the color onto the lips to get a sort of stained effect. Now take a tissue and blot your lips a couple of times to really press the color into your lips. Now go back in with your lipstick and apply a second coat of color.

Concealer – To help clean up around the lips and give them a clean edge, wipe off your lipbrush really well to remove the lipstick and use a concealer like MAC Studio Concealer to clean up the edges.

How to Look Fresh and Dewy

Winter is officially here and with it the dry air and cold wind that accompanies it!  I wanted to show you how you can have skin that glows, and looks fresh and dewy   

1. Choose the right foundation
You want to pick a foundation with a satin finish formula, unless you have dry skin, then choose a sheer formula.  Right now I’m loving the Burberry Velvet Foundation as it is talc-free and doesn’t have Octinoxate- a bonus for those with sensitive skin or Neutrogena Healthy Skin, as they give a dewy finish while still providing great coverage.


2. Apply Powder Sparingly
If you have combination skin, use the least amount of powder you can.  If you have dry skin, skip the face powder all together.  The trick to using powder is use as little as possible and apply only to the oily parts of your skin- usually the t-zone.


3. Use Cream Blush instead of Powder Blush
Using powder blush can sometimes make your skin look dry and powdery.  To give a more dewy finish to the cheeks, using a cream blush is key!  My favorite drugstore cream blushes are by NYX as they come in many colors and don’t feel sticky and also they are highly pigmented and blend well into the skin. To apply any of the cream blushes, using clean fingers, pat the color over the apples of the cheeks.


4. Use a Liquid or Cream Cheek Highlighter
Adding a cheek highlighter above the cream blush will add a soft glow to the cheeks and give your face a more radiant appearance. I am using Burberry Fresh Glow.  I love this product because it doesn’t have glitter in it yet adds a subtle glow to the skin. A good drugstore highlighter is the Natural Beauty Highlighter Duo. To apply, use a small brush and dab the color directly on the top of the cheekbones and come along the temples slightly
