Bright pink blush has always been a little intimidating in the packaging because of its bold color. But now is the time to let loose and take the pink out of your makeup bag because it is hollywood's hottest new trend.
Contrary to what you might think, anyone can wear bright pink blush, from light complexions to darker skin tones like Paula Patton. To shed your fears, we spoke to M.A.C. Senior Artist Tiffany Johnston who gave us the deets on Hollywood's latest makeup trend.
Spring Makeup For Your Skin Tone
"The greatest attribute to pink blush is that it emulates a natural flush that every skin tone has," said Johnston.
Here's how to pick the best pink blush for you: "The deeper the skin tone, the richer the pink should be. The fairer the skin tone, the cleaner and brighter the pink should be."
For darker skin tones, try Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush in Plum Wine ($7.99, drugstore.com) and for lighter skin, go with Bare Escentuals Buxom True Hue Blush in Seduction ($24, sephora.com) or M.A.C. Cosmetics Powder Blush in Pink Swoon ($20, nordstrom.com). Physicians Formula Glow & Mood Boosting Blush ($11.95, ulta.com) is a palette of complementary colors that blend together, making it compatible with any skin tone.
To give your cheeks their rarely seen time in the spotlight, pair with a muted lip and eye.
Will you be taking out your pink blush this spring?
